Soy Bio Sealant
The world's first soy-based black agricultural sealant — USDA BioPreferred.
Soy Bio Sealant is what made the original Ag Sealants Platform unique in 2005 — the world's first soy-based black agricultural sealant. Soy oil replaces the petroleum oil in conventional polyurethane chemistry. Performance is equivalent to AireBarrier Black; the feedstock is renewable.

Key features
- Soy oil replaces petroleum oil in the polyurethane base
- USDA BioPreferred — preferred procurement category
- Same performance numbers as AireBarrier Black
- Developed in partnership with United Soybean Board and Biobased Systems
- Press-recognized: Biobased Solutions (2006), The Soy Daily (2006), Power To Poultry (2008)
USDA BioPreferred
Soy Bio Sealant carries USDA BioPreferred status — a category designed to drive federal and rural-development procurement toward renewable-content products. Organic-certified farm operations and federally-funded projects often require or prefer BioPreferred products.
Same density, same performance
The soy substitution doesn't compromise performance. Density, adhesion, hardness, beetle resistance — all match the Auburn-validated AireBarrier Black specifications.
Soybean Board partnership
Sealant Technologies developed Soy Bio Sealant in partnership with Biobased Systems and with industry support from the United Soybean Board. The soybean checkoff program continues to support innovative soy-based agricultural technology.
Where it's used
- Poultry barn wall sealing
- Equine stable bio-insulation
- Dairy / organic operations
- Swine confinement (bio preference)
